Nyaruguru: Local authorities appreciated the alternative dispute Resolution Policy
In collaboration with Nyaruguru District, the JRLOS committee which AMI is a member JADF INDASHYIRWA (Joint Action Developpement Forum) of Nyaruguru District, organized the awareness-raising campaign and mobilization on the alternative dispute resolution policy A.D.R.
From September 16 to 20, 2024, the local authorities' authorities of the Ruramba, Ruheru, Mata, Cyahinda, and Nyagisozi Sectors benefited from this mobilization where they expressed perfect satisfaction with this policy which will help them in the alternative resolution of conflicts without access to the courts and this will contribute to promoting restorative justice for social cohesion of the entire community of these Sectors.
The advocacy officer in Association Modeste et Innocent (AMI) Mr Mutaganda Fabien, demonstrated that through Amataba's approach, AMI was able to resolve the problems of the Gacaca courts where the property looted during the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsis, was reimbursed amicably.
He further stressed that it was Amataba's approach that inspired the Ministry of Justice to design the alternative dispute resolution policy.
