The Association Modeste et Innocent (AMI), in collaboration with Nyaruguru District, has strengthened the knowledge and skills of young people who have graduated from the Iwawa, Gitagata and Gatare rehabilitation centres, with the aim of helping them reintegrate successfully into social and economic life.
The activity aimed to help the young people make effective use of the skills they acquired during their stay in the rehabilitation centres, where they received training in various trades, including welding, tailoring, carpentry, construction, hospitality and hairdressing, among others.
The young people were reminded of the importance of making good use of the skills they had acquired, adopting responsible behavior, creating their own employment opportunities and developing self-confidence.
The Vice Mayor of Nyaruguru District in charge of Social Affairs urged them to avoid misconduct that could lead to their return to rehabilitation centres. He also encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available to them, continue learning and work towards contributing to their own development and that of their families.
Following the training, AMI will provide them with equipment related to the trades they learned, enabling them to start working, create their own employment opportunities and improve their living conditions. This support aims to help them put their acquired skills into practice, generate income and play a meaningful role in the development of their families.
