Huye: AMI strengthens the capacities of young people from rehabilitation centres
The Association Modeste et Innocent (AMI), in collaboration with Huye District, organized a capacity-building session for young people from the Iwawa, Gitagata and Gatare rehabilitation centres, with the aim of helping them better integrate into socio-economic life.
The training was intended to help them put into practice the skills and knowledge they acquired during their stay in these centres, where they were trained in various trades, including welding, tailoring, carpentry, construction, hospitality and hairdressing, among others.
The young people were sensitized to the importance of making good use of the skills they had acquired, adopting positive behaviors, creating their own employment opportunities and building their self-confidence.
The official in charge of youth affairs in Huye District urged them to avoid behaviors that could lead them back to the rehabilitation centres. He also encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunities available to them, continue learning and work towards contributing to their own development and that of their families.
Following the training, AMI will provide them with equipment corresponding to the trades they have learned, enabling them to start their own activities, create employment opportunities and improve their economic well-being. This support aims to help them put their acquired skills into practice, generate income and make a meaningful contribution to the development of their families.
