Establishment of ACSM Groups in Nyaruguru and Kayonza Districts
As part of the implementation of the Ikaze mu Banyu project, the Association Modeste et Innocent (AMI), in collaboration with local authorities, established ACSM groups in the districts of Nyaruguru and Kayonza.
These activities were conducted in Kibeho, Rusenge, and Ngoma sectors in Nyaruguru District, as well as in Rwinkwavu and Kabarondo sectors in Kayonza District. The main objective of this initiative is to promote unity, resilience, healing from emotional wounds, and the development of sustainable peace.
In Nyaruguru District, the initiative was coordinated by AMI facilitator Mr. Pasteur Anicet Kabarisa, while in Kayonza District, it was coordinated by AMI facilitator Ms. Nyirabizimana Emeritha.
At the level of each AMI intervention cell, ten individuals recognized for their integrity were selected to participate in training sessions on “good power” (inner strength and positive influence), aimed at strengthening their capacities.
Following the training, these individuals will play a key role in providing psychosocial support to perpetrators of the Genocide against the Tutsi, as well as to other individuals who continue to carry emotional and psychological wounds related to this tragedy.
In both districts, members of the elected committees received working materials, including notebooks and other essential tools, to support the effective implementation of their activities under the Ikaze mu Banyu project.
Through this initiative, AMI reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of a society grounded in unity, reconciliation, and sustainable peace, where individuals are supported in their healing processes and encouraged to contribute to a better future for themselves and for the country.
